It was that time of year apparently and squirtles were hatching on the beach. With them often sought after as not only a rarity from mostly being from Kanto, but in addition to the predators that often came after them. So in times like these Rangers were called in like usual to ensure things ran smoothly. As usual Razz had arrived early, already on the beach to block off any trainers who wanted to come near. While he shooed away another hopeful trainer both Salem and Lapis were in the sand watching as one by one squirtles were slowly hatching from their eggs and looking at the new world around them. Razz looks up from the eggs as his partner finally arrives. Had this been much earlier in his Ranger career Razz definably would have had a few words for the other. Though much has changed since then and he only gives the other a simple shrug. "No big deal, its not like you've missed much," he comments nonchalantly. However as nonchalant as he was about it, he was still going to judge them. [break][break]

"Razz Kingsman," he introduces himself simply though he doesn't offer a hand like most do, he still very much not a people person, "You are?" he'll ask more to confirm than really wondering.

Salem makes a comment about something, but he didn't sign anything so Razz seems confused. He looks back toward the other Ranger to see him return his hand but doesn't put two and two together. [break][break]

"Doing well, a few of them have hatched while others are still just showing signs up moving," he points toward the eggs as he decides to take a seat in the sand. Watching as yet another Squirtle hatches from it's egg and looking confused and searching its surroundings to see a few others like them. Seems like they haven't figured out to head toward the water just yet, but they'll get there eventually.

it makes their jobs that much easier. he clears his throat, then shifts to sit on the sand as well, joining the other. his eyes are drawn to the hatching squirtle; he smiles, envious of its innocence.[break][break]

"it was far more chaotic last year. seems like we have it easy this time 'round."

Razz watches the way Salem's ears twitch, looking toward the bushes, "Don't be to sure about that, but try not to draw too much attention to it," he comments as he gives a whistle over to Lapis. The reptile looks confused at first as it looks around but then salutes before it heads toward the water and turns invisible for stealth reasons. [break][break]

”Guess you’re going to learn then huh?” the younger ranger off handedly comments. Not intentionally wanting to be mean, but he was very much taught to learn on the fly. So the other could adapt too right? [break][break]

With Razz making sure to keep calm to not alert the predators, the younger ranger makes a double click of the tongue and Lapis uses WATER PULSE on the hiding group Salandit, clearly looking to nibble on some eggs before they hatched. [break][break]

The scattering lizards would bring panic to the already hatched babies, but Razz would let the other deal with that.

the scattering lizards definitely sends the hatched babies into a state of panic. thankfully, darren's there to calm them down.[break][break]

his hand waves as he lowers himself to his knees.[break][break]

"uh it's alright! it's alright, buddies. i'll keep you safe."[break][break]

darren knows plenty of how to capture pokemon but little on how to handle them. but surprisingly, the babies calm just enough to not take off into a sprint.
